Study

I think I'm getting a little cold. Have a drawing! Anyways, Happy September!

Last day of August! Here's a doodle for the day!

Workshop

I went to a workshop yesterday at Otis College of Art and Design. I wasn't used to drawing long poses since I usually do 30 second to 10 minute poses from drawing people outside of class. The second drawing is a 20 minute pose and I forgot to finish the model's right foot! 

A doodle break. I'm obsessed with toads at the moment. (The same with frogs.) I find their exterior cute and squishy looking.

L.A. Zoo

I went to the L.A. Zoo on Thursday. I did a few sketches of the animals there and I decided to color the ones I liked. I only had a chance to draw the zebra once since there were a lot of excited kids everywhere.

Diamond Girl

It felt like a long time drawing on a tablet, but it has been less than a week. Days have been slow. I tested to see if I can still a doodle in photoshop- yep I still can. :)

Doodle Trade

I did a doodle trade of my friend Zushi's original character found here. I had fun drawing and painting my first time "doodle trading". 

Scarf

I bought myself a scarf yesterday. It has cute little birds on them. I find it adorable.

Pigeon Bending

Yesterday my friend cosplayed as Korra from the animated series Avatar: The Legend of Korra. She started "pigeon bending" which requires you to sway your arms in a flowing motion and scare pigeons away.

Summer Class

Sadly, my summer class ended on Thursday. I enjoyed it very much and decided to show you some projects I had to work on.
The top painting was done using split-complementary colors, in which I used orange, blue-violet, and blue-green. The bottom two are designs I painted using curves and lines on the left one and circles and lines on the other.

Beach

I went to the beach with a couple of friends. It was nice enjoying the sun. 

Late Night Study

I did a quick study for the night. It's a delicious coconut mint chocolate chip smoothie I drank at a vegetarian restaurant! The first one is the original photo I used as reference for the middle and last painting. I just used the color picker tool (I really shouldn't though) to see what colors I had to work with and then chose a few colors to use for the middle and last painting. Painting the middle one was harder than I thought.

Doodle

I did a doodle while I took a break from homework. Happy doggie. 

Newspaper

When I was younger, I owned two parakeets. Every time my parents finished reading the newspaper, we would recycle some pages by placing it on the bottom of the bird cage. Like so:  

Today, I read one of the Los Angeles Times newspapers. Instead of throwing it away after reading, I decided to draw on a few pages.

Space Car

Speed paint of a space car! I find this one really cute and I want to fly one someday...but I am in need of a spaceship license.

Just thinking of ideas really. A character who flies the space car? 

Abby

I visited my pug mix today! She's really adorable.

Sick

Being sick can't stop me from working on my assignments-- but becoming worse can! I will rest once in awhile and drink plenty of tea.  

Puppet

I worked on a mini project over the summer last year. I created a puppet from the Legend of Korra show- Amon!!! I really loved how intimidating and exceptionally skilled he was. I felt he fulfilled the antagonist role quite nicely.
